Displayslot - Technical Specifications

Applications
Displayslot is ideal for use in light product applications. Its principal advantage lies in the freedom it affords the designer in the placement of the slots.  The slots do not extend to the edges of the panel. A minor disadvantage is that the slots cannot be made too long.  They are typically 300 to 500mm.

All standard Displaywall fittings and brackets fit Displayslot.

Construction
The standard board substrate for Creative Displays’ Displaywall is MDF (medium density fibreboard). Panels can be 9 - 18mm thick and the maximum panel size is 2440x1220mm.

Slots can run across the length of the panel or across the width   Displayslot lends itself to being shaped around features such as logos.

In Displayslot, the slot pierces the panel, this should be borne in mind when placing the panels.  No inserts can be used with the system so that, unless the panels are painted, the raw panel edge will be seen from the front.

Board options
The standard board substrate used by Creative Displays for Displayslot is MDF* (Medium Density Fibreboard) with a thickness of 9mm.  We are able to process thicker boards, e.g. 12 or 18mm.

Finishing options
Displayslot is available with a comprehensive range of laminates and finishes to match your design specifications:

LPL (low pressure laminate). This finish is manufactured by applying special melamine-impregnated papers under heat and pressure to an MDF board. LPL provides good durability and performance at an economical cost and is often the best overall value for many years. We offer a full range of LPL colours and patterns from all major manufacturers, including: Bestwood (Melamine), Laminex (Melteca), Parbury (Panelart).

Wood veneer Creative Displays can provide MDF panels with real wood veneer such as Tawa, Rimu, Oak, Walnut, Teak, etc.  Veneer panels can be supplied raw, ready for customer finishing or we can apply a clear lacquer coating.

Painted Paint is the preferred finish for Displayslot because it seals the relatively thin panel to prevent bending or cupping.  It also gives a nice finish to the panel edge in the slots. Panels can be supplied painted in any paint chart colour of your choice. We can also match existing colours.  Our standard paint finish is a two-pot acid catalysed lacquer.  A one pot finish can also be provided.

Edge finishes

Clashings Edges can be trimmed with PVC tape (.6mm thick) or edge banding (2mm thick) for a more robust finish.  These finishes are available in all common Melamine, Melteca and Panelart colours and for most board thicknesses (9, 12,18)

Painted For painted panels, the edges can be sanded to prevent chipping and painted in the colour of the panel.
